Summer is so close we can taste it! If you’re like the majority of America, you’re planning to spend the long weekend outside, beverage in hand, floating in a large, sprinkled donut inner tube. But before you can do that, you have to make sure your deck and backyard is Memorial Day weekend ready! We thought we’d give you a few suggestions to get you started on your to-do list.
// First up, you want to make sure you give your entire outdoor living space a good cleaning. Get out your pressure-washer, suds up those windows and chair cushions and don’t forget to get every inch of your space free of spider webs and wasp nests!
// Refill your propane tanks or schedule your professional maintenance! If while inspecting your grill, you find you’re in need of an upgrade, consider adding a new grill to your summer space. There are a variety of fantastic choices with Best-In-Class Warranties and classic, sleek looks.
// Remember to update your summer recipes with a few new ones to try this year. There are several delicious ideas on our Outdoor Kitchen Love board on Pinterest to check out! The Fireball Apple Butter BBQ Sauce looks particularly good!
// One of those to-do’s that always seems to get ignored is making sure to get insect-repelling plants and candles for your deck and backyard. Nothing ruins a party like swatting at mosquitos the whole time and ending the night covered in bites!
// Make sure to replace all the bulbs in your outdoor lighting and add new candles for ambience. There are much more choice lighting options for summer entertaining, as well, like Tiki Torches and Fire Urns. That really brings the wow factor to your outdoor space!
Once you've checked everything off your list, all that's left is heading to the grocery store and welcoming your friends over! We'd love to hear about your Memorial Day plans in the comments. Hopefully they'll involve full bellies, sunshine and even a nap or two!
